This is not really a sponsored post, but I did receive the packages for free and decided to include them in a recipe with review
A couple of weeks ago I received a cold package from Tanmia, a local chicken producer and supplier. The package contained samples of their newly launched ready-to-cook products: Chicken Escalope, Chicken wings in barbecue sauce, Chicken legs in tomato sauce. I am not usually into ready-made stuff, but I decided to give them a try.
The day the products arrived I was not in a really good cooking mood. I made breakfast and was stalling to make lunch and hoping that my hunger would just go away. But it didn’t! Yet in the late afternoon, the package got delivered and I was glad to try them. I took a few photos, then popped the already seasoned breaded Chicken Escalope pieces in the oven. In the meantime, and since I am a person who doesn’t like getting handed ready-made stuff and have to add my touch to everything. So I chopped a small salad to go with it.
After trying all three products I received, I’ll give my opinion on them. I like the luxury of having ready-to-cook products considering that they’re very much needed in the hectic lifestyle we are living. The products look very fresh and the packaging is beautiful. But i felt that the flavor can be enhanced a bit more. There was a flavor that was present in all three products, similar to how all Maggi products have a distinct flavor present in all of them (we’ve all had Maggi throughout our life). The escalope was nice, and it remained tender and moist after baking according to pack instructions, but I prefer the breading to be crunchier and to have stronger flavors added to the breading mix or rubbed on the chicken. The wings and legs taste good and they were juicy.
Anyways, that’s just my personal opinion. I get picky sometimes.
So if you’re planning on making the escalope, try this salad as a side, or serve the salad with tortilla chips as a party starter. It is very fresh and delicious!
