Here we are again. Meeting over a recipe. I’m behind a screen drooling over a dish I prepared some time ago between the past two weeks and five years.
I will be using, though, some recipes I shot in the past few year, and in love with, yet I never shared. But I will try to get this “blogger” thing going by shooting, editing, writing, AND publishing as soon as possible.
How many of you look up superfood recipes online dreaming of getting all this goodness and instantly becoming “healthy” after swiping that credit card to fill your trunk?
It’s not like that darling.
Having a cupboard full of chia seeds, flaxseeds, oats, maple syrup, agave, olive oil, quinoa, and kale doesn’t turn you into a fitness guru and doesn’t make you healthier.
We can see the rings around your belly; Your donut.
I see you storing those in the kitchen and lashing out on a jar of that hazelnut spread crap you all like. Oh yes I did! Sue me!!!
This is not precisly a bruschetta. Technically it is. It is a piece of toasted bread, rubbed with garlic, topped with delicious ingredients. BUT it is certainly not an antipasto for me, excuse me Italians. I love these little filling bites for the limitless options one can layer in such a small bite.
There are still some seasonal tomatoes in produce shops and I LOVE tomatoes; red, ripe, juicy, and super flavourful. Go and grab the last ones out there and treat them well!
It is now cooler to turn on a grill. Whether you like a charcoal or electric, it is definitely easier to stand by a hot grill with a couple of shrimps in one hand and a gin based cocktail in the other!
Yesterday, a relative took us on a tiny boat into the sea where we went for a swim. The water is so clear there, so clear you can see your toes and the sand patterns at the bed of the sea. It was so fun and scary when he’s tipping the boat to one side when making a turn that I scream my voice out I almost lost it. I know how Ariel felt now. He promised us next time, he’ll take up fishing again. A trip we take before dawn to catch the fish when they come up to eat. Continue reading →
