It is now cooler to turn on a grill. Whether you like a charcoal or electric, it is definitely easier to stand by a hot grill with a couple of shrimps in one hand and a gin based cocktail in the other!
Yesterday, a relative took us on a tiny boat into the sea where we went for a swim. The water is so clear there, so clear you can see your toes and the sand patterns at the bed of the sea. It was so fun and scary when he’s tipping the boat to one side when making a turn that I scream my voice out I almost lost it. I know how Ariel felt now. He promised us next time, he’ll take up fishing again. A trip we take before dawn to catch the fish when they come up to eat. Continue reading
After almost a week in Baskinta with a lot of things happening and so much prep to do, this week was a calmer one. The weather decided to take it easy on us as well. Of course I haven’t tried to go to the beach but I still went out after 5, like an office employee.
A while ago, when I got my hands on some blueberries from Toot Berry, a local berry producer (FINALLY!), I decided to use them in every way possible. Except when it’s a roast chicken.
Lent is over and so is my incubation with my vegan concept Sprouts.
I decided to plant my sprouts somewhere else because the air got a little bit stifling.
It was a pleasure meeting so many people, some of them are followers of the blog and some are followers of the restaurant, while some are curious to know what vegan creations I was concocting. Very few were the dissatisfied ones, mostly the heavy meat eaters, or the ones deceived into dining at Sprouts. So many recipes prepared, so much pleasure in cooking and seeing hungry people savoring every last spoon of each dish. Continue reading
Every time I approach my writing device with the intention of writing about something I try to hide in real life, or have trouble talking about, I get second thoughts. I feel like I’m exposing too much in a place where I shouldn’t. But then again, this is my platform where I share my creations, my cooking, my writings, my photography, my emotions. Every time I hold myself back, I remember the words of Neil Gaiman,
The moment that you feel that just possibly you’re walking down the street naked exposing too much of your heart and your mind and what exists on the inside, showing too much of yourself, that’s the moment you may be starting to get it right
