It’s Monday and it’s time for THE SPILL!!!
Some good stuff this week so grab your popcorn and come on in
It was Easter weekend! We’ve had some good food, lots of sweets, some chill time. How did you spend your weekend?
Remember when we were a republic with no president?
Not anymore. Orange is literally the new black. After more than two years with no president finally the Lebanese parties (most of them at least, the ones who got a share of the cake) have agreed to vote for a candidate. Two hours of labor in the parliament proved that we still have a wicked sense of humor despite all, and that keeping the child in you alive is super important even if you’re a member of the parliament. Nothing feels good like re-living classroom fights between the bullies in the back, the nerds in the front, the teacher on the platform by the blackboard, and the supervisor pretending to be monitoring that everything is going as planned. All on live TV
Politics aside, it is purely coincidental that I am posting an orange pumpkin on such a day. This recipe was supposed to go last week as part of Pumpkin Week with the EatTheLebaneseSeason squad, our initiative to give recipes on how to cook and use local seasonal produce. But here it is: a super flavorful salad that can sub for a main meal with all the goodness it is packed with.
New to the kitchen?
Jealous of all the delicious things you see online and you want to make them too?
Here is a list of things your kitchen should have to be able to cook basic food:
Stovetop and Oven
Obviously! Unless you are into rubbing two stones over a stack of hay , or have a wood-fired stove in your backyard (which would be excellent TBH)
And oven obviously for cakes and casseroles first!
You’ll also need casserole dish, baking sheet, and cake pans
Been a very long time. Feels as if the months of July and August are doomed on this blog. It’s like I am not allowed to celebrate by blog’s birthday with my readers and friends.
But no worries. Two years ago on this day, the first recipe was published.
SO HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO COOKIN5M2 !
Here I am, 2 years later, with more than 70 recipes published, with food adventures, delicious ever-progressing food photography skills, and more delicious food.
Where was I for all this time? Continue reading
Now that you’ve had your rage with the #Fattouch / #FatDouche case which turned up to a dead end, let me unleash my rage against something more important and deserves blocking roads, burning flags, demonstrations, protests and some vegetables chopping. TABBOULEH! (i have to note the sarcastic tone, because sometimes things are only funny in my head)
I am a Tabbouleh extremist. It kills me to watch a chef massacring what he/she claims to be the real tabbouleh from the middle east (and I will not specify the country of origin because that’s a whole different debate)
